If you are offering someone something for free, you are assuming atleast one of two things:
1. That what you are offering, they don't have.
2. That what you are offering is better than what they already have.
This can offend many people.

If you are offering something for free you should always:
1. offer something that the person already has.
2. offer something you know is worse than what the person already has
and that person will feel sorry for you.
This way your offerings are always humble and appreciated.
i dont quite understand what you mean, miss shanito. i cant tell if you are joking, or being serious. thus is my life.
Once I offered a friend a cup of instant coffee and a hard boiled egg...
I knew he had better organic coffee at his house. As for hard boiled eggs, although delicious indeed, well...It just wasn´t the most complete of all breakfasts.
He smiled a soft smile, accepted my offer as a humble gift of appreciation.
I don´t think he was offended
